This privacy policy applies to ledsavings.com.au, operated by Cutter Electronics (Australia). It explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Who we are
ledsavings.com.au is operated by Cutter Electronics, an Australian company with over 20 years of experience in LED product development. Contact: cutterelectronics@gmail.com.
2. What information we collect
If you use the calculator without an account, we do not collect any personal information. Calculations are performed in your browser and nothing is stored on our servers.
If you create a free account, we collect:
- Your email address (used only for passwordless login via magic link)
- Saved calculation data you choose to store (lighting parameters, product costs, state tariff selections)
- Branding details you upload (logo, company name, contact information) for use on PDF reports
Product database contributions: if you submit product pricing or specifications to the community database, that data is stored without personal identifiers.
Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how the calculator is used (page views, feature usage, geographic region). This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by Google Analytics.
Advertising: this site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads.
3. How we use your information
- To send you a passwordless login link when requested
- To store and retrieve your saved calculations and branding settings
- To generate PDF reports using your branding details
- To improve the calculator based on aggregated usage data
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data storage and security
Account data is stored using Supabase, a secure cloud database platform with data centres in Australia or the United States (depending on configuration). Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest. Magic link tokens expire after one hour.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. No internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to us.
5. Cookies
This site uses cookies for the following purposes:
- Session management: to keep you logged in to your account
- Analytics: Google Analytics cookies to measure site usage
- Advertising: Google AdSense cookies to serve relevant advertisements
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the account and saved reports features.
6. Access and correction
You may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you by emailing cutterelectronics@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. You may also delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at the same address.
7. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, you may lodge a complaint with us at cutterelectronics@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
